?? Online Blackjack at UK Live Casinos
Blackjack is a much-loved casino table game that is simple to understand and exciting to play. Live dealer Blackjack games at a live casino site combine the thrills of a land-based casino with the comfort and convenience of online gambling. At most UK online casinos you can find dozens of live Blackjack tables.
You will find online blackjack tables offering the classic version of the game, with some exciting optional side bets to spice up the action. These are normally streamed directly from the game provider’s state-of-the-art studios, for example Evolution Gaming has hundreds of Live BlackJack games taking place at the same time in their European and US studios.
When you play live dealer blackjack at real money casino sites, you can be sure that games are safe and secure to play. The live dealers are professional trained croupiers, exactly like in brick-and-mortar casinos, and the same high level of security is upheld.

In 2024 our favourite online casino to visit and play live Blackjack has to be Betfred. Although they began as a betting site, they have recently rejuvenated their casino section, and now have an excellent choice of the best live dealer games.
The range of Blackjack options at Betfred is good, with a choice of tables from around the world, exciting multiplayer Blackjack games and high roller tables. They also have a good choice in Live Roulette games if you fancy spinning the wheel as well.
Here are the table limits for some of the most popular Blackjack games available at Betfred:

---|---|---|
All Bets Blackjack | £1 | £2,000 |
Betfred BlackJack 1 | £5 | £2,000 |
Soiree High Stakes Blackjack | £500 | £1000 |
Soiree Elite Blackjack | £100 | £10,000 |
When you first register at Betfred you can get 5 Golden Chips to play Live Blackjack once you deposit and stake £20. These chips are each a £5 free bet, and they come with no wagering requirements on your Blackjack winnings, making this one of the top live casino bonuses in the UK today.
?? Live Blackjack Casino Bonus
Most live casino operators in the UK don’t have a welcome bonus for Blackjack because it has a very high Return to Player percentage (RTP) compared to other casino games and online slots. You can claim more general first deposit bonus offers and use the funds or winnings to play Live Casino games, although you must check the Terms and Conditions for any games excluded from the wagering requirements contribution.
Live Blackjack No Deposit Bonus
In August 2024 we haven’t found any online casinos offering a live blackjack bonus without deposit, but we will update this page as soon as any no deposit bonuses become available.
Free Blackjack Games
You can play free blackjack games at some live casinos, using simulated credits to place bets. This is a good way to get to understand the game and the quirks of different Blackjack variants. You cannot play live blackjack for free, as the real dealer tables are reserved for those playing with real money.
Best Deposit Match Bonus for Live Casino
The best deposit bonus to claim if you want to play Live BlackJack is from LeoVegas Casino. They will double your first deposit up to £50 with a 100% bonus, and all bets placed on Blackjack have a 20% weighting towards the wagering requirements. Plus you will get an extra £6 casino chips for selected Evolution live games.
Wagering Requirements
Almost all online casino bonus offers come with a wagering requirement which dictates how many times you need to play through the value of the bonus before you can cash out your winnings. The standard requirement in the UK gambling industry is 35x-40x, but some bonuses go as high as 200x.
Live Casino games are often not counted towards the wagering, so check the T&Cs for the game weighting. All the live casino bonuses we recommend have a minimum 10% weighting for BlackJack bets.
Sometimes you can find no-wagering free spins, or very occasionally free bets for Roulette or Blackjack like the Betfred Live Casino bonus which come with no wagering requirements on your winnings.
?? Online Blackjack Rules
The rules of live casino Blackjack are pretty straightforward making the game easy to learn and enjoy. As a player, you are only playing against the dealer and not other players. The main objective of the game is to have a hand that is close but not over 21. If you go over, you go bust and lose the game.
Betting on Blackjack is simple, as you are just putting a stake on whether you think you will win. At some tables you can also place a Bet Behind if you think that another player will beat the dealer.
How to Play
The winner of Blackjack is whoever’s hand of cards is closest to, but not exceeding 21. Numbered cards are scored at their face value of 2-10, and the picture cards (Jack, Queen and King) are each worth 10 points. Players can choose whether their Aces are high or low, scoring them as one or 11.
At the start of the game the player is dealt a two-card hand and the dealer is then dealt at least one card face up. After looking at their first two cards, players have four options:
- Hit: get an additional card from the dealer
- Stick or stand: players take no more cards
- Double down: players can up their initial bet if they commit to sticking after receiving one more card. At some Blackjack tables you have to increase the bet by 100% to double down.
- Split: if the first two cards are the same value, you can divide them into two separate hands by placing a bet on the second hand. An additional card is then dealt for each of the two split hands, and play resumes as normal.
Once all players have completed their hands, it’s the dealer’s turn to play. In standard Blackjack rules if their hand is 17 or more, the live dealer must stand. If the total is 16 or under, they must take a card until their hand is 17 or more. The dealer will not play their hand if all the players have gone bust.
At the end of the game any players who have a hand closer to 21 than the dealer win their bets (so long as they have not gone bust with a hand of over 21!). If a player’s hand and the dealer’s hands are equal, no one wins. If a player has Blackjack – a two card hand with an ace and a picture card – the player wins and will usually receive a bonus if the dealer does not also have Blackjack.
House Edge
Blackjack has the lowest house edge of the classic casino table games, but the return to player does vary depending on how many decks of cards are in play. Many real life casino Blackjack tables use multiple decks to deal from to mitigate against card counting, and raise the house edge. For every additional deck in play, the probability of getting an ace and a picture card for Blackjack decreases, so the house is more likely to win. Most live dealer casino blackjack variations use up to eight decks, which raises the house edge to 0.66%.
Other variations of the basic game have a theoretical return to player (RTP) of 99.28%, for example live Blackjack Party, Blackjack VIP, and Salon Privé Blackjack. Other Blackjack games incorporate random multipliers, for example Lightning Blackjack and Quantum Blackjack, and whilst this increases the volatility it also raises the RTP.
Main Blackjack Variations
Most online casinos will carry different Live Dealer Blackjack variants. The number of variations will change between casino sites they have partnered with, as there are some differences in what casino game providers offer.
These are some of the most common basic rules variations of Blackjack you can find at UK live casino tables:
Live Blackjack Variants | Game Information |
---|---|
Spanish 21 | The liberal version of the game. The players can double down any number of the cards, get payout bonuses for five or more card 21s, blackjack always winning. However, this is at the cost of having no number 10 cards in the deck. |
21st Century Blackjack | Also known as Vegas Style Blackjack. In this version, the player bust does not automatically result in a loss. Depending on the online casino, the player can still push if the live dealer busts as well. Note that often, the dealer has to bust with a higher total for the wager to be returned. |
Double Exposure Blackjack | In this version, the first two cards of the dealer's hand are face up. However, blackjack only pays even money (1:1), and the player loses at a tie. |
Double Attack Blackjack | The very liberal version of the game. You can increase your wager after seeing your first card. Note that blackjack only pays 1:1 in this version. |
Blackjack Switch | This game is played over two hands whose second cards are allowed to interchange. A natural blackjack is paid 1:1, and dealer 22 is a push. |
Super Fun 21 | Allows players to split any hand up to four times. If the player has six cards totalling 20, he automatically wins. Wins are paid out 1:1. |
?? Blackjack Sidebets
Some Live BlackJack tables will offer side bets, where you can also bet on a range of conditions as described below. With these additional wagers you can lose your Blackjack hand but still win your side bets.
Side Bet | Winning conditions | Payout |
---|---|---|
21 + 3 | Make the best 3 card poker hand from your 2 starting cards and the dealer's face up card. | Flush: 5-1 | Straight: 8-1 | 3 of a kind: 25-1 | Straight flush: 35-1 | Suited 3 of a kind: 100-1 |
Any Pair | If your two starting cards are the same number you win. | Any pair: 7-1 | Suited pair: 20-1 |
Bust it | Bet on the dealer going bust. The odds increase with the number of cards it takes to go bust. | 3 cards: 1-1 | 4 cards: 2-1 | 5 cards: 8-1 | 6 cards: 25-1 | 7 cards: 100-1 | 8 cards 250-1 |
Hot 3 | This pays out if the total of your 2 starting cards and the dealer's card comes to 19, 20 or 21. | 19 total: 1-1 | 20 total: 2-1 | 21 unsuited: 4-1 | 21 suited: 20-1 | 777: 100-1 |
Insurance | Bet on the dealer's ace becoming blackjack | 2-1 |
Perfect Pairs | Similar to Any Pair but you win more if the matching cards are the same colour or suit | Mixed pair: 6-1 | Coloured pair: 12-1 | Perfect pair: 25-1 |
? New Live Blackjack Games
One of the advantages of playing Blackjack as an online casino game, rather than in a brick and mortar casino, is the exciting new ways to play that are opened up by the online casino software.
Games like Quantum Blackjack use the same random number generators you find in other online games to add additional multipliers to selected cards. This increases the anticipation when the real dealer hands out the physical cards, as if you win with one of these special cards your winnings will be multiplied by up to 10x.
?? Payment Methods for Real Money Live Casino Games
Before you can play Live Blackjack at a UK online casino you will need to make a deposit into your live casino account. There are many payment methods you can use to transfer money to the best Live Casino sites, and there is normally a minimum deposit of only £10 or £20.
These are the most common payment options for making a casino deposit:
?? Payment Methods | ? Advantages | ? Disadvantages |
---|---|---|
Debit Cards | Accepted by all live casino sites | Withdrawals can take up to 5 working days |
Bank transfers | No need to set up a separate account | Slowest withdrawal option in the online gambling industry |
PayPal | Very secure for online payments | Not accepted at all live casinos |
Skrill | Popular e-wallet | Excluded from most deposit bonus offers |
Neteller | Secure PayPal alternative | Payment method usually not valid for welcome bonus |
MuchBetter | Fast payouts | Only accepted by a few British casino sites |
PaySafeCard | Prepaid card | Withdrawals only available at a few live Blackjack sites |
Pay by Phone | Quick and easy when playing live dealer Blackjack on mobile devices | £30 per day max deposit limit |
When you want to withdraw your winnings you normally need to use the same payment method that you used to make a deposit. eWallets are normally the best way to get a fast payout, once you have confirmed your identity with the live casino.
If you claim a live casino bonus remember that you will need to complete the wagering requirements before you can withdraw the winnings from your bonus funds.
